If it asks you a password to open, you probably use the wrong software to open the file. The pattern files are Encrypted using the latest Adobe software to avoid editing, copying, and ensuring that files are protected at all points in their journey across any device - any request to remove the encryption will not be considered. It is permitted high-quality printing of the patterns and their instructions, pattern measurement, and commenting. 

If some file features like 'Bookmarks', 'Attachements' or 'Layers' are not available inside your Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can fix this issue by updating Adobe Acrobat Reader on your PC.

Sewing Pattern PrintAtHome A4 / Letter and Copy Shop A0 are available as attachments inside the file you received. Find the 'Attachments' icon under the 'Bookmarks' icon on the left side of the screen, click the icon to display the available files. You can save the pattern files separately, click right on the file, and select "Save Attachment..." - this is possible only with free or paid Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you cannot find the attachments in your Adobe Acrobat Reader, please update the software.

Yes, if the one purchased by you comes with the sizes saved individually and if you can set the print scale to 100% on your device.
If you can't set the print scale to 100%, I don't recommend using your smartphone to print the pattern, as a few millimeters off the scale can affect the fit of the garment. Also, if the file with individual sizes is unavailable, you cannot deselect the different layers/sizes if the file with individual sizes is unavailable.
